The FTC's filing quotes this passage from a June 22, 2008 email from Zuckerberg to Chris Cox and others. The FTC's amended complaint cites a June 2008 internal email for the line "it is better to buy than compete." Meta's response says the passage comes from a message about a contemplated acquisition of a company in Germany.
